Schisandra chinensis extract and TGF-1 effect on gene expression profile in A7r5 rat aortic smooth muscle cell

Schisandra chinensis extract B (SchB) and schisandrol B (SolB) most potently inhibited TGF-1-induced activation and nuclear translocation of NF-B. These effects of SchB and SolB were independent of the Smad-associated canonical pathway. The inhibition of NF-B by SchB and SolB attenuated TGF-1-induced cell migration. Our study demonstrates that SCE and its ingredients SchB and SolB suppressed TGF-1-NF-B signaling axis.
