Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common psychiatric condition of children with a prevalence of 5-10% worldwide. Up to 30% of adults with a history of childhood ADHD maintain symptoms in later life; these adult ADHD patients are severely impaired in social and professional life due to persistence of ADHD core symptoms like impulsivity, attention deficit and hyperactivity as well as frequently observed co-morbidities like alcohol and drug abuse, major depression, bipolar and personality disorders.
A preliminary study on methylphenidate-regulated gene expression in lymphoblastoid cells of ADHD patients.

View SamplesM端ller cells (MCs) play a crucial role in the retina, and cultured MC lines are an important tool with which to study MC function. Transformed MC lines have been widely used; however, the transformation process can also lead to unwanted changes compared to the primary cells from which they were derived. A monoclonal spontaneously immortalized rat M端ller cell line, SIRMu-1, was derived from primary rat MCs and characterized by RNA-sequencing (in addition to immunofluorescence and western blotting) in comparison to primary MCs and the SV40-immortalized MC line, rMC-1. Overall design: RNA-seq was performed on enriched polyA RNA from primary M端ller cells (4 biological replicates of passage numbers 3-4), SIRMu-1 cells (5 biological replicates of passage numbers 6-20, two of which were cultured in the presence of the antibiotic gentamicin and the antifungal amphotericin B to match the culture conditions of the primary MCs), and rMC-1 cells (3 biological replicates of passage numbers 23-26).
RNA sequencing data of cultured primary rat Müller cells, the spontaneously immortalized rat Müller cell line, SIRMu-1, and the SV40-transformed rat Müller cell line, rMC-1.

View SamplesUsing a syngeneic p53 null mouse mammary gland tumor model that closely mimics human breast cancer, we have identified by limiting dilution transplantation as well as in vitro mammosphere and clonogenic assays a Lin-CD29HighCD24High subpopulation of tumor-initiating cells. Differentially expressed genes in the Lin-CD29HighCD24High mouse mammary gland tumor-initiating cell population include those involved in DNA damage response and repair, as well as genes involved in epigenetic regulation previously shown to be critical for stem cell self-renewal.

View SamplesmRNA from wild-type (Cre-) and MLL1-deficient (Cre+) BMDMs were analyzed via gene chip (Mouse Gene ST 2.1, Affymetrix) for relative expression changes. Isolated mRNA from Cre- and Cre+ BMDMs stimulated with classical activation signals (IFNg, LPS or IFNg+LPS) was analyzed using a gene chip panel of >40,000 RefSeq transcripts, and resulting fold expression was determined by analyzing quality-controlled expression values for validated probesets.

A comprehensively characterized cell line panel highly representative of clinical ovarian high-grade serous carcinomas.

View SamplesThis study aimed to generate a new panel of comprehensively, genomically characterized high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) cell line and xenograft models. Multidimensional genomic data were generated and compared between cell lines/xenografts and the tumours they were derived from, indicating the cell lines/xenografts are highly similar to their patient-matched tumours. Cell line/xenograft data were also compared to TCGA ovarian tumours to show the cell lines are good models of clinical HGSOC.
