CD133+ and CD133- cells were FACS islated from GBML8 cells to find gene signatures upregulated in cancer stem cells Overall design: After surface immuno staining, CD133+ and CD133- cells were FACS isolated and subjected to RNA isolation. Experiment represent averaged data of 2 independent FACS isolations.

View SamplesMicroarray deconvolution is a technique for quantifying the relative abundance of constituent cells in a mixture based on that mixture's microarray signature and the signatures of the purified constituents. It has been applied to yeast and other systems but not to blood samples.

View SamplesJ14 ES cells differentiated into MGE-like cells. Three groups of single-cell preparations were analyzed: ES cells (undifferentiated), differentiated cells (unsorted, of which less than 10% are GFP+) and GFP+ differentiated cells. These are specified in the "group" sample characteristic, with values "ES", "Unsorted" and "GFP+" respectively. The "SAMPLE_ID" sample characteristic is a sample identifier internal to Genentech. The ID of this project in Genentech''s ExpressionPlot database is PRJ0007904 Overall design: J14 ES cells differentiated into MGE-like cells

View SamplesLigand-mediated activation of the nuclear hormone receptor PPAR gamma lowers blood pressure and improves glucose tolerance in humans. Two naturally occurring mutations (P467L, V290M) in the ligand binding domain of PPAR gamma have been described in humans that lead to severe insulin resistance and hypertension. Experimental evidence suggests that these mutant versions of PPAR gamma act in a dominant negative fashion. To better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying PPAR gamma action in the vasculature, we determined the global gene expression profile in primary aortic endothelial cells in response to endothelial cell specific expression of a dominant negative isoform of PPAR gamma (V290M).

View SamplesIn this study, we used microarray analysis to determine gene expression profile changes in the mouse prostate following castration and hormone replacement. We first identified genes with significant expression changes in each of these two processes and then generated a list of androgen responsive genes and a list of genes whose expression were inversely correlated with the presence of androgen. The analysis of this data set is described in Wang et al., Differentiation, 2006

View SamplesRNA-seq was performed to assess gene expression alterations by the addition of serial oncogenic hits (mutant-IDH1, P53 knockdown and ATRX knockdown) in human neural stem cells. Overall design: All RNA-seq was performed in duplicates, there are four conditions total. Vector NSCs are the control line and have an empty mCherry vector and a scramble shRNA vector. One hit NSCs express mutant-IDH1 and have a scamble shRNA vector. Two-hit NSCs express mutant IDH1 and have p53 knockdown. Three-hit NSCs express mutant-IDH1, P53 knockdown and ATRX knockdown.
