Schisandra chinensis extract and TGF-1 effect on gene expression profile in A7r5 rat aortic smooth muscle cell
  • organism-icon Rattus norvegicus
  • sample-icon 18 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Rat Genome 230 2.0 Array (rat2302)

Description

Schisandra chinensis extract B (SchB) and schisandrol B (SolB) most potently inhibited TGF-1-induced activation and nuclear translocation of NF-B. These effects of SchB and SolB were independent of the Smad-associated canonical pathway. The inhibition of NF-B by SchB and SolB attenuated TGF-1-induced cell migration. Our study demonstrates that SCE and its ingredients SchB and SolB suppressed TGF-1-NF-B signaling axis.

Kinetic analysis of T cell anergy induction
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 14 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Murine Genome U74A Version 2 Array (mgu74av2)

Description

T cell receptor(TCR) engagement in the absence of costimulation leads to a state of T cell tolerance known as anergy. Anergy induction requires new protein synthesis since it is inhibited by cycloheximide.

Publication Title

Ndrg1 is a T-cell clonal anergy factor negatively regulated by CD28 costimulation and interleukin-2.

Gene expression profiling of sensitive skin
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

Sensitive skin is a hyperactive skin condtion, characterized by prickling, burning, itching, stinging, pain, or tingling sensation, which develops in response to various internal and external stimulants that can be tolerated by most people. The pathophysiology involved in the development of sensitive skin remains largely elusive. To characterize differential gene expression profiles in sensitive skin, we investigated the genome-wide patterns of gene expression from skin samples from subjects with sensitive or non-sensitive skin, following lactic acid challenge or normal saline application using cDNA microarrays.

Publication Title

Decreased ATP synthesis and lower pH may lead to abnormal muscle contraction and skin sensitivity in human skin.

Transcriptional profiling of human monocytes treated with indoxyl sulfate (IS) or p-cresyl sulfate (PCS)
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 9 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 2.0 ST Array (hugene20st)

Description

End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is the final stage of chronic kidney disease, which is increasingly prevalent worldwide and is associated with the progression of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Indoxyl sulfate (IS) and p-cresyl sulfate (PCS), major uremic toxins, are major risk factors involved in the pathology of CVD via adverse effects on endothelial cells and immune cells. Thus, transcriptomic overview of uremic toxin-mediated genes in immune cells of ESRD patients is critical, but not yet fully known. We investigated the alteration of gene expressions and biological pathways mediated by major uremic toxins, in ESRD patients monocytes, via microarray analysis.

Indoxyl Sulfate-Mediated Metabolic Alteration of Transcriptome Signatures in Monocytes of Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).

Gene expression profiling of seborrheic keratosis
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 7 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

Seborrheic keratosis is benign cutaneous neoplasm, the etiology of which is not well-known. To characterize differential gene expression profiles in seborrheic keratosis, we investigated the genome-wide patterns of gene expression from skin with seborrhic keratosis and uninvolved normal skin using cDNA microarrays.

Publication Title

Microarray analysis reveals increased expression of ΔNp63α in seborrhoeic keratosis.

Menthol effect on gene expression profile in malignant prostate cancer cell lines, PC-3
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 6 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 1.0 ST Array (hugene10st)

Description

Menthol, a naturally occurring cooling compound of peppermint oil, induces an anti-proliferative activity in androgen-independent prostate cancer (AIPC). Previously, we found that menthol affects PC-3 cells viability through activating JNK but the mechanism is not fully clear. We thus studied that dysregulated cell cycle progression of PC-3 cells to menthol. We performed microarray experiments to obtain a global view of how menthol affects prostate cancer biology in gene expression profile.

Publication Title

Menthol induces cell-cycle arrest in PC-3 cells by down-regulating G2/M genes, including polo-like kinase 1.

Expression data of colony-stimulating factor (CSF) grown bone marrow derived cells
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 6 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Gene 1.0 ST Array (mogene10st)

Description

Granulocyte-Macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) devlops heterogenous myeloid cell populations from bone marrow progenitor cells. In vitro generated bone marrow derived cells are excellent sources for obtaining dendritic cells or macrophages, but it is still not clear about the exact mixed population characteristics of GM-CSF grown cells. We revealed here that GM-CSF grown bone marrow cell derived attaching cells were composed of dendritic cells (GM-BMDC) as well as macrophages (GM-BMM). We compared the transcriptome profiles of these cell populations as well as M-CSF grown bone marrow derived macrophages (M-BMM).

Transcriptional profiling of human monocytes separated from patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) compared to healthy control (HC)
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 6 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 2.0 ST Array (hugene20st)

Description

End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is the final stage of chronic kidney disease, which is increasingly prevalent worldwide and is associated with the progression of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Despite accumulating evidence that monocytes/macrophages play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of CVDs in ESRD patients, the current knowledge of transcriptomic signatures of monocytes or macrophages in ESRD patients is very lacking. Therefore, we investigated the transcriptome profiling of monocyte separated from patients with ESRD and HC.

Eomes+ natural Th1 (nTh1) T cells share functional features with classical Th1 (cTh1) cells.
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 4 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Gene 2.0 ST Array (mogene20st)

Description

Identification of intrathymic Eomes+ natural Th1 cells creates a novel idea that there is more than one way for the generation of innate CD4 T cells. To more deeply characterize this type of innate T cells, we compared the gene expression profile between nTh1 cells generated in CIITAtg mice and classic Th1 cells differentiated from naive CD4 T cells in Th1-polarizing condition.
